Almost 50 years after Selma, the photographer and civil rights activist Joshua Rashaad McFadden has taken pictures of the current Black-Lives-Matter movement and combined the photographs of the two events to the series "After Selma". In 2015 , he and his Selma project were awarded several prizes. It is surprising and true how the images resemble each other: Again the black and white photos show protests against racism and violence against blacks.
"It is such an honor to share this work with Munich and Amerikahaus. It is important that people realize that the struggle for civil and human rights is a global issue." - Joshua Rashaad McFadden, 2017
